REGIONAL COALITION

Freed Seed Federation, in partnership with our friends at the Ujaama Cooperative, Experimental Farm Network, and the Pocasset Pokanoket Land Trust, is engaged in the coordination of regional seed hubs throughout the Northeast. This collaborative effort seeks to address the needs of current seed growers, and aspiring seed farmers and seed keepers, through regional infrastructure and education.

The difficulties posed by processing, cleaning, and safely storing seeds can be barriers to seed production for many farmers and small-scale growers. It is a core part of our mission to increase access to the necessary equipment and space through establishing ourselves as a regional hub for the south coast of Massachusetts and the greater Northeast. Our seed cleaning equipment includes various threshing machines, a Winnow Wizard, and a wide variety of screens. We hold regular community seed cleaning events and all of our equipment is available for use by request.
